As I was writing, I was listening to this in case you are interested :)
Ladies Left, Gentlemen Right
Korra is remarkably good at listening. It’s what happens when you’re the Avatar and people simply expect you to hear everything. Maybe it’s also because her seismic sense, of which she isn’t really aware, is making her see and hear.
She clinks the ice in her glass as she puts it back on the table, the noise barely audible over the piano music coming in crackling sounds from the radio, but she can still hear the footsteps, the staccato of Asamis heels.
As she finally appears in the door, Korra needs a second or two to look her up and down - some things just need to be appreciated properly - and she has to resist the urge to get up immediatly and touch Asamis hair.
“Isn’t that just the way I like you, all dolled up for me?”, she says instead, tone light-hearted, lips curving into a confident smile, as she leans back in her chair and props one leg up on the table in front of her.
Asami simply smiles, lipstick so bright, that in the dim light it looks like she directly applied blood to her lips and rests a hand on her hip. Korras eyes shot down to where she is touching the velvety fabric of her dress, then watches as the hand moves upwards to brush dark strands of hair out of her face. It’s an unnecessary move, it wasn’t bothering Asami in the first place, but the motion puts a smirk on Korras face.
“Ah, I see. Stunned into silence by my mere presence. Some things never change”, Korra says.
“Me? Never, pretty Avatar”, Asami replies.
“Well then”, Korra feels a sharp shoot of pleasure as she notices the red flush on Asamis cheeks that clearly doesn’t come from too much rouge, “Let’s go fetch the boys, shall we?”Oooooh soooo peachy!! Mmmmmmh <3
